"I have given [my children and sister] every bronze done with the native floral and fauna of Wyoming.  They all show [Dawn's] love of nature and her home state of Wyoming.  Her woodcuts are the best I have ever seen.  Somehow she is able to incorporate many colors which is unusual in comparison to others I've seen." - Patty Lufkin, Owner of Blackhawk Gallery

"Dawn's paintings reach out and grab the observer in unique and marvelous ways."

I have been collecting Dawn Senior-Trask's art for years.  I have also given a collection to my two children and my sister.  I have given them every bronze done with the native floral and fauna of Wyoming.  They all show her love of nature and her home state of Wyoming.  Her woodcuts are the best I have ever seen.  Somehow she is able to incorporate many colors which is unusual in comparison to others I've seen.

I am now the recent owner of an art gallery and am excited to carry Dawn's work.  Her new work, a bronze quilt, is spectacular.  I plan to showcase it on my entrance wall into the gallery.

I look forward to all of Dawn's future pieces.  Her work reflects the person she is, showing knowledge, respect and warmth to the subjects she portrays in her art forms. - Patty Lufkin, Collector and Owner of Blackhawk Gallery, Saratoga, Wyoming

"David and I have so enjoyed having your artwork to gaze upon.  Several nights ago we spent some time commenting on your large painting of the horses.  After speculating on which of the horses was dominant, their gender and so forth, we concluded that you captured them so well that they might as well be running through our living room.  It is just plain wonderful to be surrounded by so much beauty."  Mrs. David Nowlin, Redmond, Oregon

"Dawn has got all my numbers down pat! She sees what I try to sing, with vivid detailing which brands memory cells.  I only wish my free verses were as splendid as her illustrations.

"I think the Because our Ways... is the perfect cover.  The Whatever Shall Become of Us, the Casting of the Stones and the title poem illustrations are all valid and real, mirror images of my life, and I cherish Dawn and her gift for these.  Also, I adore her droll asides, like the fox scratching one ear, and the pair of geese, on the title page.

Also, her depiction of Coatlicue is the finest I've seen (not excluding the statuary carved in stone in the museum in Mexico City -- the real stuff!).  The ocelot's markings are incredible.  I don't like Dawn's drawings, I worship them and feel great pride and much humility that my poems struck such searing fire in her creative woodlands.  I can say only 'Bless her!', for sharing in my dreams, and working them into reality." From poet Virginia Love Long, author of the book Squaw Winter,  which Dawn illustrated with pen and ink drawings.

"The books have arrived and I am absolutely delighted.  Dawn's art work is perfect.  It really does capture what I think is the "feel" of the collection. I like the impressionistic feel of the 'path' drawing, and  the light, etherial touch to the cranes.   I've been getting an excellent reaction to it, both critically and commercially.  Nice job!" - From the poet D. Steven Conkle, author of the book Samadhi, which Dawn illustrated with sumi (brushed ink) drawings.

"Dawn's paintings reach out and grab the observer in unique and marvelous ways.  The painting I have (not own, for it owns me!)  is called "Log Cabin Quilt."  I first saw it several years ago, and thought it had sold when it disappeared from the gallery in Saratoga.  Then one day, lo and behold! it was hanging on a wall in a spa, and still held me in its grip.  Now it graces a space in my home that needed color and cheer, and it is a marvel to behold and study.  Dawn has Wyoming and the West in her blood and heart -- and that is what the observer feels and sees!"

"Dawn Senior's art work --both her visual art and her poems and fiction-- is deeply informed by Nature. Her multicolored woodcuts in particular reflect the beauty and sacred dimensions of the natural world. I have known Dawn for over fifteen years and have never met a person so attuned to the environment. She is no casual, weekend backpacker; instead she relies upon an intimate knowledge of the complex cyclical patterns of Grandmother Earth in order to create a wide range of stunning works. Some American Indians still enjoy this same ancient relationship with a cosmos in which one can become friends with individual members of animal or even plant species as easily as we moderns share human friendships. I write these words on Earth Day, but for Dawn the essence of this consciousness is a daily experience, which her art manifests with subtlety and power."
Gary David, author of Tierra Zia (poems of New Mexico with pen & ink drawings by Dawn Senior) and A Log of Deadwood: A Postmodern Epic of the South Dakota Gold Rush
