Dawn Senior-Trask, of Moonhorse Art Studio, has gained a love and unique
understanding of the wildlife of the West - unique personalities and the often
amusing relationships of the wildlife and their relationships with people. This
understanding is reflected in her wildlife sculpture bronze plaque.

Few sights are so amusing as that of a pair of tumblebugs
rolling a ball of dung over the ground, struggling to push it to a good spot
to dig a hole, bury it, and lay their eggs in it. These comically-tubby
little beetles (of the sub-family Scarabaeinae) seem of Herculean
strength as they press the dung together and then roll the ball (for what
must seem like miles to them!), pushing it mightily with their hind legs
across difficult terrain rife with gravel, sticks, gullies and anthills
(known to them as boulders, logs, ravines and mountains).

Unfortunately, some tumblebugs don’t play fair
¾ the artist has witnessed instances in which one
half of the couple hitches a ride instead of helping, leaving his or her
spouse to labor “over hill and dale” burdened with dung-ball and
mate!
In minute and accurate detail wildlife artist Dawn Senior-Trask has sculpted
these tiny heroes hard at work.

"I don't like Dawn's
drawings, I worship them and feel great pride and much humility
that my poems struck such searing fire in her creative woodlands. I can
say only 'Bless her!', for sharing in my dreams, and working them into
reality." - Poet Virginia Love Long, author of the book Squaw Winter
