More information about this animal sculpture bronze plaque below.
High above the river, the cliff swallows build their bulb-shaped mud nests among
crags and beneath overhangs of the ochre sandstone bluffs. By the dozens, the
swallows dart and swoop after the river’s swarms of mosquitoes, mayflies,
midges, and other delectable, chick-fattening fare.

The swallows’ squeaky cries carry over the deep rush of the river, and their
flashing wings seem to echo the sunlight sparkling on the rippling current.
Their acrobatic grace and the warm security of their cliff homes are detailed in
this beautifully-patinaed bronze plaque.

"I don't like Dawn's
drawings, I worship them and feel great pride and much humility
that my poems struck such searing fire in her creative woodlands. I can
say only 'Bless her!', for sharing in my dreams, and working them into
reality." - Poet Virginia Love Long, author of the book Squaw Winter
