More information about this landscape oil painting below.

Dawn and her husband Juel are often out at sunrise, walking to gather
the horses for the day's riding. Dawn usually has to walk for several
miles to find the horses as they graze among the Cedar Breaks.
She made numerous sketches of this view before she painted this large canvas.
The scene includes the valley hay meadows, with wild grasses, rabbit
brush, purple bee-plant, old cottonwoods and willow shrubs in the
foreground. Behind the boulder-tumbled Cedar Breaks rise the
northern-most peaks of the Snowy Range, with its awe-inspiring Elk
Mountain enveloped in morning clouds. A first touch of frost has
brought hints of coming autumn to the land.

"I don't like Dawn's
drawings, I worship them and feel great pride and much humility
that my poems struck such searing fire in her creative woodlands. I can
say only 'Bless her!', for sharing in my dreams, and working them into
reality." - Poet Virginia Love Long, author of the book Squaw Winter
