For many years Dawn worked as an Artist-in-Schools
throughout Wyoming, Idaho and South Dakota.
One of her favorite places to work with children was at the remote He Dog School
on the Rosebud Lakota Reservation in southwestern South Dakota. Every morning,
as she drove to He Dog from her host family's home in Mission, she noticed this
view of the rolling prairie. The warm glow of sunrise brought out the beauty of
this land, so sacred to its people.
