Their young Australian shepherd, Boots, loves to accompany Dawn and her husband
Juel when they walk out to catch the horses for the day's riding.
But sometimes Boots pushes her luck, gets too close, and one of the seven horses
-- in this case Dawn's filly, Chispa -- takes out after the puppy in a mad
dash! This gouache painting captures the action, with the soft autumn colors of
a misty morning.
