"I have given [my children and sister] every bronze done with the native floral and fauna of Wyoming.  They all show [Dawn's] love of nature and her home state of Wyoming.  Her woodcuts are the best I have ever seen.  Somehow she is able to incorporate many colors which is unusual in comparison to others I've seen." - Patty Lufkin, Owner of Blackhawk Gallery

"Dawn's paintings reach out and grab the observer in unique and marvelous ways."

Wyoming Wildflowers was the first wildlife sculpture in bronze Dawn Senior-Trask made in what became a decades-long project. It began as a birthday present she sculpted for her sister Lenore. When her mother and father (a professional artist) saw it, they took Dawn and her original clay pitcher to a foundry to have it cast. Time has not diminished the appeal of this perennially popular work.

In the foothills around Dawn’s cabin, the sego lily’s graceful simplicity provides a lovely contrast to the jagged granite outcrops and rough sagebrush. Like all the denizens of this semi-desert environment, it is well adapted to dry conditions, growing only a few inches tall.

On the other hand, the elephant-head blooms in lush high-mountain meadows, where each blossom on the tall, slender stalk looks exactly like its namesake, complete with trunk, bulbous forehead, big floppy ears, and even a mouth. Can you imagine the artist’s delight when she first discovered this as a child?

This design includes the lovely sego lily, elephant-head (true to its name) bitterroot, shooting star, grasshopper, dragonfly, wild rose, larkspur, wild currant, tiny native bee, butterfly, Indian paintbrush, and many more.

"I don't like Dawn's drawings, I worship them and feel great pride and much humility that my poems struck such searing fire in her creative woodlands.  I can say only 'Bless her!', for sharing in my dreams, and working them into reality." - Poet Virginia Love Long, author of the book Squaw Winter
